The demi would after another moment longer grab the handle and slowly turn it to open the door. His head did turn a little when he noticed the other’s wings flare open and would hesitate with his next words. Looking away quickly and letting out a shuddering sigh, the door being pushed open as he’d ‘slither’ into the doorway.
“…Now you….see…why I am the monster. This is…my natural state. Not when I take on the shape of others.” speaking in a quieter tone and it was then did he begin to slither out. Struggling to keep the strands of black ooze together in the puddle and to keep himself from collapsing fully into that puddle.
*Shadow just….starred. He knew it was rude. There was a nagging voice in the back of his head telling him it was rude. But damn it right now he just couldn’t turn away. He was paralyzed. Shadow’s wings shook slightly from the strain of being open in one position for too long. Really what COULD he do? What should he do? Shadow swore he’d probably fall back into the bed soon because his knees had locked up.*
*….and he said nothing. Shadow couldn’t respond to that. He had never seen his Mephiles’s ‘natural state’. Well, there was that puddle of goo, but Mephiles called that form. Not a natural state. When Mephiles was gone Shadow’s knees unbuckled and he sat, shakily, on the bed. His wings collapsed on either side of him.
…..he’d….had enough for one day. He was tired. This was all…just a lot to take it. Shadow curled up on his side on the bed, wrapped his wings around himself, and still in a bit of shock, drifted into a light sleep.*
The demi was gone shortly afterwards and leaving the hedgehog to his own devices. Neither demi’s returning to him through the night but by morning the sun god had returned. Peeking into the room with mild uncertainty…having noted the memories that were accumulated by his Mephiles half and the other hedgehog’s reaction to him. When the demi had broken down before him. With a breath did he knock against the wall inside…to see if the other would awaken yet. “Shadow, we had best return to your world…this one will not hold up for much longer. The spell I had created is beginning to crumble. I am sorry if you are not ready but I wouldn’t wish for you to be harmed in any way by the time stream.”
Shadow was already a frail looking mobian…it was unnerving. Solaris had mentally vowed to try and get him back up to strength again. Ears flattened back against his head while unease crossed his features. Not sure how the other would react to him now after seeing what Mephiles was like. That same creature was apart of him…constantly apart of his being and mind. It was even a little unsettling for Solaris.
